Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SBAN) was registered on 25/01/2051 under Kathmandu Chief District Officer by the stock broker companies of Nepal. The main purpose of establishing SBAN is to create unity, solidarity and healthy communication among the members and to make their reasonable interest reachable to the concerned authorities, investors and the public which ultimately helps to make Nepalese Capital Market stronger. It is situated at the heart of Kathmandu i.e Putalisadak with the aim to make it convenient for it members to hold meetings and discussions whenever needed. There are all together 50 stock broker firms in Nepal with 41 branches outside the valley and all the 50 brokers are members of SBAN.
The working/executive committee of SBAN comprises of eleven stockbrokers who are elected every two years by the members at the Annual General Meeting. The Executive Committee represents the whole Stock Broker Fraternity. The Committee work very closely with the Securities Board of Nepal(SEBON), Nepal Stock Exchange Limited(NEPSE), CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC), different Investors Associations, the Ministry of Finance etc. in the issues that are directly related to the stock brokers.
Besides major issues, the members meet frequently to look for ways to improve the industry. With a continuous effort the association is trying to make the members more professional and disciplined for a healthier and transparent market which is in line with the prevailing rules and regulations of the country.
